News: ESWT on BBC Radio 4
The benefits of Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) have been analysed on the BBC Radio 4 Inside Health programme this week.
The feature will be aired at 3.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday, 8 February) and looks at the merits of using ESWT to treat chronic soft tissue injuries.
The Swiss DolorClast ESWT device is currently being used at 15 NHS treatment centres in the UK – click on the 'find a clinician' tab on this website to locate your nearest centre – and is an effective alternative to invasive surgery.
BBC Radio 4 health expert, Dr Mark Porter, discusses ESWT technology with Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist David Silver who successfully uses a Swiss DolorClast device to treat NHS patients at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and private patients at the Exeter Nuffield Hospital.
For those that miss this afternoon’s broadcast of Inside Health, the programme is also available on the BBC iPlayer (starting at 21 minutes) at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b01blzl1
