News: UK clinicians welcomed at ATRAD World Congress

A number of clinicians that are using the Swiss DolorClast in the UK travelled to the recent ATRAD World Congress event in Berlin, Germany to mark their registration as ATRAD-certified clinicians.

ATRAD, the Association for Radial Pain Therapy, is a scientific programme that brings Swiss DolorClast users from across the world together on an annual basis to share information about best practice and to discuss their experiences when using the Swiss DolorClast Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) device.

Spectrum Technology officials were joined by nine clinicians from the UK who travelled to this year’s event in the German capital. More than 200 Swiss DolorClast users from across the world attended the event in total.

“This was the first year that UK clinicians can attend and register as ATRAD-certified clinicians and I know the people that came with us found the whole experience very useful and enlightening,” said Jim Westwood, Spectrum Technology Managing Partner.

“There were lots of discussions to get involved with during the two days of congress and one of those was how to use the Swiss DolorClast most effectively. This focused on the key elements of usage when targeting the best possible clinical outcome for the patient.”

Having unrestricted access to a scientific programme like ATRAD is regarded as a major benefit for the growing number of Swiss DolorClast users in the UK because it gives clinicians vital support.

Westwood explained: “Being able to share information is critical for Swiss DolorClast users because the device is used in lots of different ways by lots of different people. Education and experience is key to the success of the Swiss DolorClast and we’re committed to providing that through ATRAD.”
